Church in the heart of the Beaufortain, dedicated to Saint Jacques of Assyria, first evangelizer and first archbishop of the Tarentaise.
The Hauteluce church, an authentic jewel of Baroque art, is distinguished by its 55-metre-high bulbous bell tower, an architectural curiosity visible from afar. Its richly trompe-l'œil facade promises an equally exceptional interior. Once through the porch, you'll discover a stone balustrade, a carved wooden pulpit and vaulted ceilings. Dedicated to St. James of Assyria, the first bishop of Tarentaise, the church has been a listed historic monument since 1943.
