Culture Chambéry

Activities, cultural programming, meetings, sharing, about fifty activities available for all, for 4 years at the DJC in Chambéry. Foreign languages, theatre, music, pottery, yoga, carnival dance, Khmer boxing, computer initiation… a carpentry workshop. Music and dance courses, concerts at Bartem, contes bars, Nights of the full moon. The Totem, the Chambérienne scene dedicated to French song, hosts artists all year round, programming for small and large.

The Orchestre des Pays de Savoie is one of the few permanent orchestras in the region. With programming around chamber music, jazz, opera, classical or contemporary music, training takes part in many events: world creations, discs, performances in Savoie or other regions or abroad. This ensemble also works in the diffusion of music in schools, University of Savoie, prisons, hospitals…

The audiovisual library Jean-Jacques Rousseau celebrates his twenty years. It was built by the architect Aurelio Galfetti. On several floors you can borrow, consult, work on-site. Books, magazines, CD and DVD are available. A large old regional fund whose illuminated manuscripts are available on-site after request from the Savoie service. Also a music download point, free internet access, a multimedia workshop. Under the guidance of a blind employee, a reading service for visually impaired or blind persons is available. Animations, exhibitions complete everything.
