This amusing name hides a man: Jean-Jacques Rousseau. Les Charmettes is the home of this great man, now a museum dedicated to his life and work. Classified as a historic monument in 1905, the house is charmingly nestled in a natural setting. Rousseau lived here with Mme de Warrens from 1736 to 1742, a crucial period in his intellectual development.
