THE PRIORESS OF MONTVERDUN

The association of the Friends of the Peak invites you to a guided tour of the Priory of Montverdun founded by Augustinians in the 11th century. A Benedictine monastery under the dependence of the Chaise-Dieu, it has known its hours of glory and the vicissitudes of time, especially during the revolutionary period. In his pastoral novel l'Astrée, Honoré d'Urfé had imagined the peak of Montverdun as a place of oracles and druids.
