HIKING PATHS

For several decades, the town has renovated roads and footpaths along the canal and through the surrounding countryside. From the church of the commune to the remains of the Cistercian Abbey of Bénisson God, the hiker can walk through the pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela. An inter-communal network enriches the proposed routes. From the port you can follow the marked slipway trail of the Martin fisherman, the mascot of the circuit.

Discovery journey «Between slipway and shore»

From the peaceful shores of the canal, you join the more turbulent of the Loire and walk on the steps of the submarine. From the port of Briennon, the hiker walks along the Canal Canal in Digoin by the old slipway. It is then adventure in the ripisylve, a specific vegetation of the streams of rivers, discovers the lône of Briennon, a former Bras arm, to reach the shores of the river. This tour is packed with interpretive panels on the theme of canal, Loire, fauna and flora. Provide paper and pencil for questions/answers in ripisylve.
