Restaurant with flowered terrace serving mountain dishes, hearty plates and homemade desserts.
It was on the Col de Leschaux, in the Bauges massif between Annecy and Aix les Bains, that the culinary adventure led by Sylvie and François Gomanne began.
Two years ago, the family took over the restaurant La Baratte in a magnificent natural setting surrounded by alpine pastures. François is in the kitchen, Sylvie manages the bar and restaurant, their two eldest children, Arthur and Sidonie, are in the dining room, and the youngest is at hotel school. Passionate about good food and good products, they are committed to offering home-cooked meals made with local produce. If you're wondering where the cheese comes from, sit on the panoramic terrace and watch the cows in the surrounding pastures - you've got your answer! The first farms are just 300 metres from La Baratte's terrace. François and Sylvie give pride of place to local producers, and this is reflected in their dishes, rich in taste and flavor. In addition to their warm welcome, their dishes are excellent. The fresh goat's cheese comes from a small farm 4 minutes from the restaurant, the charcuterie is also local and artisanal (Maison Baud), and the fresh bread comes from Sévrier. Farmhouse Abondance, awarded the gold medal in 2023, is produced a stone's throw from the restaurant, and this cheese is served in their signature dish, Berthoud, baked Abondance with white wine and port, accompanied by charcuterie and potatoes. High-quality, locally sourced products to delight the whole family. A gustatory interlude in the calm of the mountains. A rural and natural environment that is reflected in your plate.
