Sanctuary of Saints-Mayeul-and-Odilon, a stage on the road to Santiago de Compostela, welcoming pilgrims and retreatants.
In 915, Aymard, ancestor of the House of Bourbon, gave to Cluny his lands of Souvigny with the church dedicated to Saint Peter. Mayeul, abbot of Cluny, founded the monastery there in 954, and died in 994. Odilon de Mercoeur succeeded him and died in turn in 1049. They were both canonized a few years after their death, after numerous miracles. As a stage on the road to Santiago de Compostela, the sanctuary welcomes pilgrims and retreatants.
