Theaters Montélimar

The municipal theatre is the symbol of Émile Loubet's golden age. Theatre à la'in neoclassical style, its orientation to the Mistral, outside the walls of the city, and its interior layout had been greatly criticized at the time - 1882 to 1885. After decades of good and loyal services, which have become unfit to receive from the public, this theatre that received the greatest artists of its time is currently closed to the public, at booth by waiting for renovation. But it always marks the urban landscape.

The chapel of the Carmelites, a former hospice renovated by the city, was for a decade the place of residence of the Théâtre du Fust, an international puppet company that recently left Montélimar, (after more than thirty years of presence!) to continue its destiny in Ardèche. Finished the manufacture of puppets, finished shows in the public garden… However, the site, renamed the municipal cultural area of the Carmelites, has not lost its cultural vocation and now hosts several associations on 900 m 2, three floors: Theatre, the Théâtre des Migrateurs, the Mistral Choir, the Adhémar Choir, the association of Literary cafés, the cinema club…

A young concert hall, the auditorium Michel Petrucciani (the name of this famous musician who lived in Montélimar) offers 430 places with good visibility, a beautiful scene from the outset found his place and his audience in the cultural landscape of Montélimar. Indeed, and especially since the closure of the municipal theatre, most of the shows programmed by the Spectacle and Cinema Régie are given in the auditorium. Beautiful theatre programming, songs, lyrical singing, piano, classical music, jazz, contemporary dance, circus arts, programming is diverse.
