Traditional brasserie in Sainte-Maxime offering Mediterranean bistro cuisine and a menu of traditional dishes

The historic brasserie created in 1852, member of the association of European Historic Cafés, offers Mediterranean bistronomic cuisine in a historic setting. Géraldine (4th generation) and her husband have preserved the soul of this place where fishermen and tourists have fun remaking the world. The menu, which changes every season, is full of traditional dishes. The owners, as well as Nicolas Vachet the manager, are passionate about music, there is jazz almost all year round. The jazz@table evenings are very popular, from Saint-Tropez to Cannes.

Tables trop serrées et décor aseptisé style IKEA. Ça fait un peu cantine chic, maintenant. Avant, c'était plus désordonné, plus authentique, c'était l'un des derniers beau bistrot d'antan avec des banquettes et tout et tout, des fleurs qui pendaient du plafond, et même une vieille bibliothèque. Hélas, Business is Business. L' âme de ce lieu est partie, avec le VRAI Café de France. Le cœur n'y est plus et le contact humain non plus d'ailleurs. La cuisine, elle, reste simple. Dommage.

J'y viens depuis plusieurs années. Je regrette simplement qu'il n'y est pas de plat plus style bistrot. Et des frites maison. Dommage.
Les pâtes chinoises c'est génial mais avec des herbes fraîches menthe et coriandre sinon c'est triste en bouche..
quand au café gourmand très peu intéressant.
Mais c'est toujours agréable d'y venir.

Brasserie très chic au centre de Sainte-Maxime. Cuisine authentique. Les portions sont importantes. L'aïoli, plat du sud, est très bon. Le service est efficace et avenant.
