Camps-la-Source is a charming Provencal village in the Var region of France. As you stroll through its cobbled streets and small squares shaded by century-old plane trees, you'll discover the village's greatest asset: water. In the past, hat-making was Camps-la-Source's main activity. For family hikers, a stroll through the chestnut forest to the top of the Saint Quinis massif is highly recommended. You'll be rewarded with the discovery of a hermitage and a splendid view of the Verdon foothills, the Bessillons, the Candélon de Brignoles, the Barre de Cuers, Lake Besse and hills as far as the eye can see. The village is criss-crossed by canals through which water flows peacefully. Two beautifully restored chapels, Saint Sébastien and Saint Martin, are also well worth a visit. Finally, don't miss the Chestnut Festival, which celebrates the traditional harvesting of this emblematic fruit of the region. This gourmet day showcases local produce in a delightful autumnal atmosphere.
