Hotel on the ledge of the Grand Canyon du Verdon with comfortable rooms, a restaurant with local cuisine

This hotel is truly one of our favorite establishments in the Verdon! This is primarily due to its unique and exceptional location. It sits on the sublime cornice of the Grand Canyon, with a breathtaking 300-meter-high view of the Canyon. The recently restored rooms are comfortable and cosy. The restaurant, Les Cavaliers, offers a beautiful panoramic view of the Verdon Canyon and delicious local cuisine.

This place has absolutely amazing views and delicious food. We did have one problem with our rooms where the hot water heater broke and leaked and so we had to get transferred to another room without a view, but we were able to get transferred back to the room with the view the next night and got charged for the cheaper room both nights which was nice.

The staff was also very friendly and accommodating, but also be warned that their English is not the best so it really helps to have someone there who speaks French in your party. If you do have someone that speaks French though, they are helpful and accommodating and especially the son is very kind and happy to chat.

Wir waren gestern dort, um ein Kaffee zu trinken und haben uns sowohl eine schöne Aussicht als auch ein leckeren Kaffee gewünscht. Die Aussicht war top. Das „Restaurant“ von innen veraltet und in die Jahre gekommen, ausgestopfte Tiere wie in einer Österreichischen Jagdhütte und Eier vom Frühstücksbuffet lagen um 15 Uhr immer noch im Raum rum. Der Kaffee war den Namen nicht wert. Es steht eine Siebträgermaschine dort, doch für 4,50 Euro erhält man einen billigen ungenießbaren Maschinenkaffee, der einem Stunden lang einen schlechten Atem besorgt und einem eine Völle- und Übelkeitsgefühl hinterlässt. Die Hände der Kellnerin waren derart ungepflegt, dass es mich angeekelt hat den Kaffee zu trinken, den sie hinstellte. Warum kann man angefressene und zersetzte Fingernägel nicht mit einem Pflaster oder etwas ähnlichem abkleben. Ekelhaft. Ein toller Ausblick, 9 Euro Verlust und ein Ekelgefühl sind geblieben. Eine Goldgrube vergammelt an der Kante des Canyons.
