Mountain and winter sports La Grave

The "tele-feric" gondolas literally take us off, as we are offered a 2,150 m climb in 45 minutes to reach the summits! From La Grave, this exceptional and vertiginous equipment gives access to the high mountain with its two sections from 1,400 m to 2,400 m and from 2,400 m to 3,200 m. And two summit lifts lead to 3 550 m in winter. If the weather conditions do not prevent it, a connection is then possible in both directions with the big resort of Les Deux-Alpes. And if your technical level allows it, you will soon enjoy one of the largest off-piste skiing areas in Europe. A freerider's paradise. At 3 550 m, the view is exceptional: you can see the Ecrins National Park to the south-southwest, Italy to the east and finally the Mont-Blanc to the north! A breathtaking 360°. The direct itinerary of the 9 km long descent is accessible to skiers of average technical ability, but beware, it is an off-piste run, which implies professional guidance and good equipment. Good snowboarders and the best off-piste skiers have their own privileged spots, however, from the top of the cable car: les Vallons, Peyrou-d'Amont, brèche Pacave, col du Lac and refuge Chancel. In summer, at an altitude of 3,200 m, you can walk on the Girose glacier, a species in danger of extinction! A magical hike to do with a guide in complete safety.

If in winter, the motivation for exercise is not always at its peak, the racket presents itself as an ideal way to continue to spend outdoors, at less cost and with always as much pleasure. The hiking path we offer here begins in front of Ane's Pas, slightly below the Foot du Col (Hamlet of the Villar-d'Arena commune). It addresses all audiences, beginners as well as more knowledgeable. If you are discreet, perhaps you will see some chamoix. If not, you will only be able to admire the man's glacier, which on its own merits the move.
