It is a museum on ethnological heritage whose vocation is to present, in the site where it was born, a very specific tradition of violin making. It occupies the former house of the violin maker J.-A. Pajot located in the hurdy-gurdy maker's district of Jenzat, the European capital of hurdy-gurdy making in the 19th and 20th centuries.
