Briançon is a Town of Art and History, and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008. It is famous for its Vauban fortifications, its ancient Cordeliers church, its Notre-Dame-et-Saint-Nicolas collegiate church and its various town gates. But Briançon is also renowned for being one of Europe's largest ski resorts, part of the Serre Chevalier Vallée ski area.
