This inn is in Roubion, in the heart of the Mercantour National Park and close to the Valberg ski area. Manu and Marie-France offer old-fashioned gourmet cuisine on a woodfire…all based on local products. What more could you ask for? Maybe, the pastries and the homemade bread that you will not be able to resist.

Appalling experience. Stopped after climbing the Col de la Couillole. I sat at an empty table, and went to order mineral water while waiting on food. The waitress said sorry, food only. I said yes, I want food and drink. She then goes aff and, a few minutes later, said sorry, reservations only. This is at an empty table, with no place setting. So much for service, especially after a bike climb. Meanwhile, the water fountain in the village is broken.

Une soirée improvisée qui fut magique. Ce dîner de fin juillet en terrasse à Roubion avec un bel accueil, un bon repas que demander de plus…! Cerise sur le gâteau la visite du village sur des airs de Veronique Sanson, les estivales nous offrant une soirée musicale.

We got turned away as thirsty money paying bike riders at 14h40, because the kitchen was closed, but many people were enjoying fresh drinks.
Typical bad French attitude in a struggling tourist industry.
Opening hours on Google maps are not correct.
It's a shame because it looks like such a nice place.

quel manque d'humanité !
si j'avais réagi plus vite, je lui aurais proposé de s'assoir à ma table et de lui commander une boisson voire plus.
j'étais présent avec mon épouse, mon petit fils et ma filleule, et nous avons été choqués !
nous ne sommes pas prêt de retourner à cette auberge qui ose avoir la marque "bistrot de pays"... qu'on veuille bien se rappeler ce que veut dire "bistrot", cela ferait du bien à ce pays qui a tant oublié la notion de "service". nous avons un très beau pays qui attire bon nombre de touristes qui malheureusement repartent avec une piètre idée des français.
tout cela est bien triste !
