Simiane-la-Rotonde has hosted an early music festival since 1841.

The noble room of the château, the rotunda has been listed as a Monument Historique since 1841. It was built around 1200 to reinforce the château's defensive system, making it the oldest circular keep in Provence. The site offers self-guided tours, guided tours (to be booked in advance) and a fine festival of early music every summer. You can also learn about the uses and virtues of essential oils at the château's aromatherapy workshop in the two rooms dedicated to the subject.

On a fait un détour d'une heure sur une route sinueuse en descendant sur la côte pour visiter le vilage et son château. On ne le regrette pas !

Quand on aime les vieilles pierres, on ne peut qu'apprécier Simiane la Rotonde. Le village et le château sont remarquables. L'idéal est d'arpenter les rues du village en prenant le temps d'observer. Ce n'est pas accessible à tout le monde (pentes et pavés irréguliers) mais quel découverte à chaque coin de rue.
