Located in the heart of the Cordelier Convent, the new museum devoted to the perfume, aromatic and medicinal plants that have made the reputation of Provence for centuries is a real invitation to a sensory and sensitive journey. The seven interactive visit areas will take you from the Lure mountain, an extraordinary garden between the Mediterranean and Alpine climates, to the lavender fields, a strong symbol of Provence. You will discover the astonishing and sometimes unknown world of the pickers and peddlers, or the drug merchants. You will learn all about distillation and the precious products, perfumes, balms or elixirs, that it allows to obtain. The children's trail will allow you to enjoy a fun moment with your family, which you can extend through the various workshops inviting you to create your own perfume or a scented herbarium. The plants of Provence will no longer hold any secrets for you! If you wish to continue the experience, three interpretation trails have been created in the Pays de Forcalquier/Montagne de Lure area. These trails were inaugurated in September 2019 and we strongly advise you to go for a walk. They focus on aromatic and medicinal plants and their ancestral and contemporary uses. They approach the theme of plants in three dimensions: past, present and exceptional.
