The Roche-la-Croix site is a stone masonry complex dating from the century

Part of the Maginot Line in the Alps, the Roche-la-Croix site is a 19th-century stone masonry structure, reinforced with 20th-century concrete, that bears witness to a relentless arms race. The Roche-la-Croix redoubt (1,900 m) and battery (2,100 m) were built between 1884 and 1889 on the model of General Séré de Rivières, thus blocking access to the Col de Larche.
