Inn in the Little Switzerland of Alsace with charming rooms with wood panelling and trailers in the garden
A really nice setting in the heart of the forest and at the foot of the cascade du Nideck, for hiking for example (the GR53 passes in front of the house). It is good to stay in this large building where the owner, Philippe, can give you touristic tips. The rooms are charming, with some wood panelling; one of them, arranged as a suite, can accommodate four people. In the garden, two authentic caravans unusual for a family break or for their honeymoon. Breakfast is served at the café on the ground floor where paintings and works are displayed. The fireplace shows its warmth in the lounge area, with its friendly sofa, armchairs and its books available for children, a pool for the players. Guests can have dinner on the spot but on reservation because the café is open only during the low season (but daily from spring). The cuisine is simple, authentic and generous: soup with split peas, potato salad and its raids, fruit tarts. As Philippe goes shopping at the corner market by bicycle, it is better to phone and announce the number of guests before arriving.
