The Laffaux mill, located on the N2 between Soissons and Laon.

The Chemin des Dames is dotted with numerous memorials. Here's another, commemorating the clashes that took place at the Moulin de Laffaux crossroads during the First World War, and paying tribute to the crapouillots (named after the French trench mortars), the 12,000 artillerymen who fell on the French and Eastern fronts. The monument can be found on the N2 road between Soissons and Laon.
