Bourrine built according to the ancestral method of the XIXth century with its walls of earth and its roof of reeds.
Return to the beginning of the century thanks to this bourrine (traditional Maraîchin dwelling) built according to the ancestral method of the 19th century, with its earthen walls and its reed roof. You will learn about the way of life of the Maraîchins - inhabitants of the marshes - through the simple furniture and instruments characteristic of the region. Another particularity of these houses: they are in a flood zone! At the beginning of the century, the yawl - a flat-bottomed boat - was the only way to get around in the marshes. Yawl rides by appointment.

un passé pas si lointain
une maison typique ,avec toiture végétale, habitée encore pendant la première partie du 20ème siècle , au milieu du marais , qui déploie ses paysages bucoliques tout autour.Le décor intérieur a été conservé (même si des éléments ont dû être ajoutés) .Difficile d'imaginer que quelques décennies séparent la Vendée prospère d'aujourd'hui de ces misérables conditions de vie.
