A priory located 9 km from Pouzauges, comprising a chapel, chapter house and refectory in excellent condition.

Near Pouzauges, this former monastery of the Grandmontain order, founded around 1197, is one of the best preserved in France. The chapel, chapter house, refectory, kitchen and dining hall are all in excellent condition. The most beautiful pieces from the Grandmont treasure, one of the most fabulous collections of medieval goldsmiths' and silversmiths' work, are represented thanks to an innovative photographic process. Très belle abbaye
Intéressante à visiter malgré sa taille modeste. On imagine la vie monastique présente dans son dépouillement .

Pas grand chose à voir pour une visite, par contre en été il y a les nocturnes où dés qu il fait nuit des chanteurs de chants gregoriens font visiter à la lumiere des flambeaux et en chantant.Ambiance féérique et trés sympa, on s assied dans l herbe pour une chanson puis on change de coin en suivant le groupe.des voix superbes et envoutantes.on termine par un feu de joie et gateau et boisson.
