A park and a museum, with 3 exhibition rooms: a multimedia room dedicated to megaliths, a room on the life of the first farmers and, new for 2025, "Man and the sea in prehistoric times", as well as the discovery of undulators. A 2.5-hectare open-air trail with signage on archaeological digs, Neolithic settlements, megaliths, etc. Take part in family visits, demonstrations and creative workshops: making fire, hunting, moving a menhir, making pottery, discovering tools...

Opening time and information on PREHISTO' SITE OF THE CAIRN
Open from April to the end of September, plus the All Saints' vacation. High season: open daily from 10.30am to 7pm. Easter and All Saints' vacations, bank holidays and events: 2 pm to 6 pm. Other periods: Monday to Friday, 2pm to 5pm for self-guided tours (€2 - no activities). Free for children under 5. Adults: €8.60/€7.10 (low season); 5-14 years: €7.60/€6.10. Vacation vouchers. Located in Saint-Hilaire-la-Forêt, 20 km south of Les Sables d'Olonne and close to the ocean, the CAIRN is a living, playful and educational museum that welcomes you to the land of megaliths!
Created in 1990, every year it tries to make you live history. In its park, animated by passionate and humorous mediators, it offers you to discover prehistory in a different way. With your family or friends, come and take part in numerous activities: pottery workshops, adornment..., fire demonstrations or hunting, will make you a real Homo Sapiens!
On rainy days, nothing is lost, with 3 exhibition rooms, it is more than 350m² of museum that you will have to discover!
