The Bois de la Chaize is famous for its forest of holm oaks, maritime pines, arbutus trees and above all the mimosas that bloom there in winter: a superb sight that has contributed to the island's fame. In the last century, it was the embryo of a seaside resort with few holiday houses, the steam train ensuring the link between the mainland and the Bois de la Chaize until the Second World War. Today, it is in this green setting that are the most beautiful villas of the island, built at the end of the 19th century for the Nantes bourgeoisie.

Lieu de détente et de pique nique. A proximité de la plage des Sableaux ( pêche aux palourdes) et de la plage des Dames. Venir en Juin ou Septembre pour la tranquillité.
