On the occasion of a stroll in the town of Richelieu, a small detour to the shop of the Vrignaud distillery, located just in front of the cathedral (which alone deserves a visit!). Founded in 1812 by Henri-Aimé Vrignaud, this spirits house offers a boutique area and seminar rooms. Less well known than kamok (a coffee liqueur sweetened at 40°, based on robust arabicas and plants), which has made the reputation of the House of Vrignaud, chouannette is a great idea for an aperitif and an alternative to Pastis Vrignaud. Well struck, this maceration of red fruits (cherries, blackberries, raspberries) is suitable for everyone. Maison Vrignaud liqueurs can be drunk at the end of a meal or incorporated as a coulis on ice, tiramisu or entremet. Among these, the kayouski, with almonds and apricot kernels, the liqueur of the Vendéens, with sweet and bitter oranges macerated in cognac, the liqueur of the Puy-du-Fou, (pear) or the triple sec, without forgetting the astonishing liqueur of mogettes. And the latest addition: the Richelieu: a Williams pear liqueur. Of course all this is to be consumed in moderation!
