A must-see site in the Sablais region, ideal for children, offering a boat trip to Les Sables-d'Olonne.
Head for La Chaume, then Aubraie to reach this Sablais site that has been a must-see for decades. The Les Salines site offers a range of activities. If you have children, there's a special activity for them, including a boat trip and a visit to the Parc d'Aventure du Sel (independent visit to the Park possible). You'll board the Mireille and the Jonathan, for a boat trip on the salt river and a guided tour of the heart of the Olonne marshes. During this tour, you'll discover the salt marshes, their history, the fascinating profession of the saunier and finally, you'll witness the salt harvest. The tour continues with a visit to the Parc d'Aventure du Sel, followed by a visit to the saunier, a genuine Sablais heritage site. Following the enigma game and animations, children will have the opportunity to harvest the salt: this is the "Magical Harvest" (2-hour visit). It's a very fun activity, especially as children leave with their own little bag of salt, proud to have made their own harvest! Wildlife enthusiasts won't want to miss the bird observatory. Another option is to visit the park and take a canoe trip, to combine knowledge and leisure. Last but not least, pay a visit to the Salines boutique, where you'll find marsh products such as coarse salt, fleur de sel and flavored salts, as well as caramels, cookies, preserves and local soups.

July 1 to August 31: daily, 9:30 am to 7 pm. Several boat trips per day from April to the end of October (approx. 2 hrs.). Reservations recommended. Boat trip: adults €24, children (aged 3 to 12) €14. Visit to the Parc d'Aventure du Sel: adult €15, child (aged 3 to 12) €11. Vacation vouchers. Gift store. Groups welcome.
