CHÂTEAU GAILLARD
Château initiated by Abbé Rouillon, whose presbytery has been transformed into a miniature fortress, a must-see
Built in the 19th century in this small commune of the Pays des Achards, Château Gaillard is a real curiosity! This neo-medieval construction was initiated by Abbé Rouillon on his arrival in the commune in 1865. Abbé Rouillon transformed the presbytery into a miniature fortress inspired by the castles built at the time of the Crusades. To reinforce the building, he added brick towers and false battlements, creating a unique architectural feature. The brick crosses are a reminder of the site's religious function. Unusual architecture!
