Tourist and cultural site Le Stud de la Vendée opens its doors in the heart of a 4 hectare landscaped park in the centre of La Roche-sur-Yon.
Built in 1846, under Louis-Philippe, La Roche-sur-Yon national stud-sur is one of the most recent of those erected in the th century. It features the characteristic of being built from the outset to shelter a stud farm. Indeed, most stud farms established in the th century are rather monastic ensembles dismantled under the Revolution and transformed into stud, or recycled buildings by the necessary changes induced by the industrial revolution. Today, the National Stud is dedicated to the training and recovery of the horse. The team consists of training and organization experts to inform and advise on any project around the horse.
This site is part of the network of the French horse and horse riding institute which runs throughout France with 22 national stud farms and the Black framework of Saumur.
