Sports and leisure activities La Barre De Monts - Fromentine

Three nautical bases organized on 3 sites: Fromentine, the Grande Côte, the Porteau. The different sailing areas of the sailing school of La Barre-de-Monts/Fromentine welcome people who practice nautical activities such as sailing (catamarans), sand yachting, kayaking. Its vast beaches open at low tide make it easy to practice sand yachting all year round, from 8 years old (like kayaking), alone or in pairs (two-seater sand yachting). Two other activities: kite flying and kite cart, which consists in pulling a kite from a sand yacht.

Welcome to the charming tourist resort of Fromentine! At the beginning of the train station, this family-run promenade combines nature and culture. All along the trail, panels trace the history of the commune. The journey, which is shaded, is moving first in the centre of the village, and is moving away from the coastline, offering you the passage of beautiful perspectives on the bay of Bourgneuf. At low tide you can even see the passage from Gois, which links the continent to the island of Noirmoutier.

Here you can discover the Breton marshland in a different way and in direct contact with this unique natural space: by canoe or stand-up paddle. Around the Porteau lock, a classified site, choose your activity and go for a free hike in the marsh. Equipped with a road book, you will discover the fauna and flora of the marsh in a new way. In 3 and 4-seater canoes for families, in single or two-seater kayaks, or for the more sporty, in paddle, you will glide quietly between the reeds and enjoy the panorama.

Between sea, marsh and forest, the La-Barre-de-Monts-de-Monts/Fromentine bicycle network offers over 30 km of trails, 10 km of which are in the forest. These trails are reserved for cyclists, or on forest trails. They also sometimes borrow small, quiet roads. The lack of gaps and security and leisure facilities (bicycle, health, picnic areas, water points, inflation areas…) make it an ideal destination for the entire family in all seasons.

Created in 2004, the school is on the beach of the sailing school in Fromentine. All the courses take place after a transport in semi-rigid on benches of immersed sands. The school provides inflatable wings (4 lines, from 5 to 14 m²), twin tips floats for beginners or advanced learners, wetsuits, inflatable jackets, helmets, harnesses. The courses take place over 4 hours per day. Group lessons or private lessons, over 1, 2 or 3 days. The latter take place from a boat, in deep or shallow water.
