The Pierre Levée dolmen is located at the traffic circle on the route des Sables
If you are fond of prehistory, the Saint-Gilles area, and more particularly Brétignolles-sur-Mer, is home to several megaliths. Located at the roundabout of the road to Les Sables, it has several names: Pierre Levée - probably named after the slab that covers it and points to the sky -, Pierre de Soubise or Pierre du Diable. It would probably be a Neolithic burial site because in 1904 a skeleton was discovered in the centre, as well as fragments of pottery and a flint notched scraper. It is classified.

Dolmen La Pierre Levée à Brétignolles-sur-Mer
Seul au milieu du champ, ce dolmen fait plus vrai que nature bien qu'isolé. Impossible cependant de s'en approcher car le site est clôturé. Sépulture du néolithique, ce mégalithe est classé Monument Historique selon l'information de l'Office de Tourisme.
