An 8.70-metre-high menhir in Avrillé, known as the "King of Menhirs", is a listed historic monument.
The Talmondais has a rich prehistoric heritage. In Avrillé : menhir of the Camp de César, called " king of menhirs ", 8,70 m and 85 tons, classified as a historical monument. Erected in the Neolithic period. The highest in the Vendée and one of the highest in France. Menhirs were numerous here : in Avrillé, the alignments of the Fourgon wood, in the park of the Guignardière castle, form three lines of menhirs and tumuli of 4 to 5 stones each ; in Saint-Hilaire-la-Forêt, the Sulette dolmen ; in Le Bernard, the Frébouchère dolmen and the Pey-de-Fontaine cairn.

C'est un très beau menhir, grand de 8,70 mètres. Il est un peu difficile à trouver (dans le parc derrière la mairie) mais il est facile de se garer à proximité.
