The Aizenay forest is classified as a Natural Zone of Ecological, Faunistic and Floristic Interest (ZNIEFF)
With its 420 hectares, it is the seventh largest forest in the Vendée. The forest of Aizenay, classified as a Natural Zone of Ecological, Faunistic and Floristic Interest (ZNIEFF), is a space for the conservation of biodiversity. Several hiking trails run through the forest. The main species are pedunculated oaks, sessile oaks and chestnut trees. There are also some hornbeams, beeches and aspens. It is cut by the departmental road 948 connecting Aizenay to La Roche-sur-Yon. Stop at the "sentier du Souvenir".
