ROMAN BRIDGE

As far back as the Roman occupation, this was the site of a structure used to cross the River Huisne. In the ^9th century, pilgrims collecting the relics of Saint Liboire (bishop of Le Mans) witnessed the miraculous healing of a deaf-mute as he crossed the bridge. After falling into disrepair and being rebuilt several times, the bridge was restored to its original state in the ^19th century, just as it is today.
