Roman bridge across the Huisne, a site steeped in history at Yvré-l'Évêque, waiting to be discovered.
As far back as the Roman occupation, this was the site of a structure used to cross the River Huisne. In the 9th century, pilgrims collecting the relics of Saint Liboire (bishop of Le Mans) witnessed the miraculous healing of a deaf-mute as he crossed the bridge. After falling into disrepair and being rebuilt several times, the bridge was restored to its original state in the 19th century, just as it is today.
