THE HOUSE OF HEMP AND RURALITY

Do you know that Sarthe was the country of hemp? The Saonois was the epicenter. This small museum invites you to learn a little more about the history of its culture and recalls the economic power of hemp in the region. The old tools that allowed the exploitation and processing of hemp, the work of the chanvor, seedlings until harvesting, the textile industry, the corderia and today, the thermal insulation for the building, were discovered. Guided tours by members of the association are exciting.
