Although this name may initially seem ambitious and exaggerated, because the highest peaks do not exceed 220 metres, it is surprising to discover in this region such, very impressive cliffs. In addition, the geology and flora (hills covered entirely by heather) remind the Alps, the true ones. This classified natural site, located at the junction of the three departments of Sarthe, Mayenne and Orne, offers an exceptional place for walking or hiking, as well as the practice of all kinds of sports thanks to the Domaine du Gasseau, which stretches over 30 hectares in Saint-Léonard-des-Bois. Among sports and outdoor activities, it is possible to walk through the marked pedestrian or equestrian routes and mountain bike circuits. The place has become a «relaxation» of families and fishermen.
