Robert-Tatin departmental museum located in Cossé-le-Vivien, offering an opportunity to discover the dragon, sun gate and garden

Returning to his homeland in 1962, the painter Robert Tatin was 70 years old when he settled in this farmhouse and over a period of 20 years created an original architectural universe at the crossroads of mythology and artistic references. He worked on it continuously until his death in 1983. The sculptures are aligned along the 80 m of the alley of the Giants and 5 ha of gardens. Discover the dragon, the door of the sun and the garden of meditations... A profusion that astonishes and seduces the greatest number.

Un air de Palais idéal...
Un lieu surprenant façonné par un artiste original. Outre des œuvres peintes qui, tout en conservant un ancrage ténu dans le figuratif, poussent vers une certaine abstraction, selon l'échelle du regard, on découvre la construction d'un lieu qui n'est pas sans rappeler l’ouvrage du facteur Cheval.
Un lieu ouvert aussi à l'art contemporain qui propose des expos temporaires d'artistes actuels.
