An impressive dolmen, classified as a historic monument and one of the most important megalithic monuments in Europe.
These heavy stones placed on the territory of Saumur date back to more than 5000 years. A former burial chamber classified as a historical monument by Prosper Mérimée himself, the dolmen remains as impressive as it must have been at the time. It is one of the most important megalithic monuments in Europe due to its size and state of preservation. Explanatory panels and an exhibition of prehistoric tools complete this dive into history.
