The only troglodyte zoo in the world, the Bioparc de Doué-la-Fontaine was voted2nd most beautiful zoo in Europe! For almost 65 years, more than 2,000 animals have found an exceptional natural setting, with lush vegetation, waterfalls and tunnels carved into the cliffs, taking you from one world to another, in a labyrinth of mineral and plant life. Here, animals live at their own pace in wide-open spaces. During activities, admire their natural behaviors: no training here, just the spectacle of nature! There are several areas, including the Carnivore Crater, where you can explore a spectacular landscape home to Africa's most emblematic wildlife. Lions, cheetahs, meerkats, otocyons... In the Camp des girafes, the Bioparc's muse, the giraffes await you for their daily snack of leaves. The zoo recently welcomed the birth of giraffes, bringing the total number of giraffes in the park to eleven, making it the largest group of Central African giraffes in a zoo in the world. Two maned cubs were also born in 2024, the first in 10 years! In the African aviary, you'll be amazed by the multicolored flashes of bee-eaters, jackdaws, touracos... In the "Phantoms of the Himalayas" area, markhor ibex, snow leopard and carrion vultures await you. Follow the tunnel to their steep territory and witness their spectacular meal! Enjoy a special lunch in the restaurant overlooking the giraffe and zebra camp. In the South American Territory, admire the noisy swimming of giant otters, the playfulness of spider monkeys and the arboreal climbing of spectacled bears. On their islands, Indonesian gibbons and their powerful song accompany Sumatran tigers. In Rhinoceros Valley, meet the wildlife of the African plains. After the pygmy hippos, follow the rock-cut valley to observe black rhinos and gazelles. Children can pet goats and come face-to-face with mongooses! Activities are offered throughout the year, including a visit at dusk. Finally, the 6 comfortable gîtes (5/6 people) nestling in the heart of the vegetation are the ideal base camp for discovering the Biopark.

The Doué-la-Fontaine Biopark welcomes you to a unique natural setting, combining lush vegetation, waterfalls and tunnels carved into the cliffs. An immersive, educational experience awaits you. This sanctuary is home to 2,000 animals belonging to over 130 species. Start your visit in the Carnivore Crater, where you can observe majestic lions, agile cheetahs, mischievous meerkats and otocyons. Continue to the giraffe area and discover the South American aviary, one of the largest in Europe. Here you can admire parrots such as the Hyacinth Macaw and the Lafresnaye Macaw, as well as flamingos and Humboldt penguins. In Rhino Valley, you'll encounter pygmy hippos, black rhinos and gazelles. Lovers of Asian wildlife will be delighted to discover Sumatran tigers and Siamang gibbons in the dedicated area. To enrich your experience, the park offers educational activities to help you discover the animals' behaviour and habits. Between two discoveries, fast-food outlets and the authentic Le Camp des Girafes restaurant will satisfy your appetite. A picnic area and souvenir store complete your visit. To extend your adventure, comfortable self-catering cottages are available close to the park, allowing you to spend a night or a few days close to nature. The naturally air-conditioned tunnels will take you from one world to another, in a real mineral and plant labyrinth. The animals live at their own pace in XXL spaces: take the time to explore their territories, you will be rewarded. During the animations, admire their natural behaviour: here there is no training, just the spectacle of nature!
The Crater of the Carnivores
Explore a spectacular landscape home to the emblematic wildlife of Africa. Lions, cheetahs, meerkats, otocyons... A privileged observation in a vast rocky chaos of domes and crevasses.
In 2021, the site was enriched with an African aviary. You will be surprised by the multicoloured flashes of bee-eaters, jackdaws and other touracos.
The Ghosts of the Himalayas
True elusive ghosts of the mountains, the herbivorous markhor ibex, the carnivorous snow leopard, and the carrion vultures await you. Dare to take the tunnel leading to their steep territory and you will witness the spectacular meal of the scavengers!
The giraffe camp
The giraffes are the pride of the Biopark and are waiting for you to have their daily snack of leaves! You can also enjoy a special lunch at the restaurant overlooking the quarry they share with the zebras.
The Okapi Sanctuary
Take time to observe the mysterious okapi and explore their forest area which is home to over 20 species of African birds and primates.
South American Territory
Watch the giant otters swim noisily, the spider monkeys play and the spectacled bears climb trees!
Tropical Asia
In a bamboo-filled canyon, leopards rub shoulders with red pandas and muntjacs. On their islands, the Indonesian gibbons and their powerful song accompany the Sumatran tigers.
The Valley of the Rhinoceros
Meet the wildlife of the African plains. After the pygmy hippos, walk along the rocky valley to observe the imposing black rhinos and gazelles. For the children: petting goats and a gallery tour for a face-to-face encounter with mongooses!

Il y a des toilettes répartis dans tout le parc, les différents lieux de restauration sont à des tarifs raisonnables ce qui est rare dans ce genre de lieu.
