Mazé is more than just a village in Anjou. Mazé is the cradle of the fort of Fort and Emile Joulain, a rural storyteller and poet, two pillars of Jordanian culture.

You will not really know Anjou if you do not enter one of the 312 strong ball companies in the department. The aim of this game, the cousin of the bowls, is to throw the ball very gently on a curved track. This, not entirely round, boule ball made of metal and ringed metal weighs about 1,5 kg. It will vary from right to left to get closer, if the player is clever, from the jack (called here the master, or the small). This sport, which is friendly but just as serious as its Provençal cousin, is played in slippers so that it does not damage the track.
