It is a pleasure to walk in this 76-hectare park with its undergrowth, a 17th century castle and its ponds. In the 19th century, many trees and plants were planted there thanks to the shoots brought back from across the Atlantic by the sailors. Some of these rare species are still the curiosity of passers-by. In 1973, the City of Saint-Herblain acquired the site and opened it to the public, while also welcoming lay associations and a theatrical nursery. From the undergrowth, you arrive at the edge of the ponds where a few fishermen cast their lines, then you walk along the lawns lined with hundred-year-old trees, before passing under the porch of the castle. A good breath of fresh air!

Originality
This place is certainly not quiet, on the contrary, it is particularly dangerous. For my part on December 20th, 2011, my vehicle was vandalism (broken glass and windshields) I could check that other vehicles are parked next to mine were in the same state. Two young people in a grey van was on site when I reclaimed my car, mall past. Without returning to detail, they have continued me and tried on several occasions to wedge me with all the possibilities, the continuation finally completed next to the shop Auchan Saint Herblain and police intervened. A handrail was made by the OPJ, the identity of these two aggressive young people and ultra violent is now known! Apparently they belong to the community of itinerant animators. You will see that there is it much who have chosen on-site welcome right next door and around Parc de la Gournerie. In case of a problem, I of course can recognise and testify. The wise!
