Visit the castle built in the tenth century which allows you to discover the beautiful gardens in Pornic

Built in the 10th century on a defensive site once surrounded by water, the castle then belonged in the 13th century to the Lords of Rais who built a new one in stone. At the end of the 18th century, the Marquis of Brie Serrant became the owner, and the Nantes architect Bougouin gave it its current appearance. The north tower dates from the 13th century, the south tower from the 15th century. Guided tours will allow you to discover the beautiful gardens, or certain rooms: living room, dining room, library, rooms at the top of the tower, with a view on the ria and the old Port.

Très beau château photogénique. Malheureusement il ne se visite pas mais il est possible d'en faire différentes photos en en faisant le tour, sur la passerelle au-dessus de l'eau ou en empruntant le chemin des douaniers, en face, de l'autre côté de la ria.

Très beau château au bord de l'eau, dommage qu'il ne se visite pas...
On peut tout de même en avoir un bel aperçu depuis l'extérieur, alors, ne boudez pas votre plaisir!

Il fait la fierté de la ville mais j'avoue que connaissant son histoire qui remonte au Xe siècle je m'attendais à plus d'authenticité. Il est fermé et d'extérieur ressemble plus à un pastiche du XIXe.
Il faudra que j'y retourne dans le cadre d'une visite guidée car je reste déçue.

Magnifique vue,
Dommage il ne se visite pas mais on peut faire le tour à pied par une passerelle en bois aussi bien à marée basse que à marée haute

A coté du port, ce chateau est vraiment tres beau ( de l´exterieur car on ne peut pas le visiter) . A voir si vous venez à Pornic.
