DEPARTMENTAL ARCHIVES OF LOIRE-ATLANTIQUE
Created under the French Revolution, the departmental archives of Loire-Atlantique gather archives of the Old Regime, as well as ecclesiastical archives and those of emigrants' families. Added to this are the administrative archives, as well as acquisitions, donations and bequests. In this way, we can consult (online or on-site) grievances, posters and engravings of xvie in the nineteenth century, the alphabetic tables of the 1791 estates in the middle of the twentieth century or the parish registers of the xve in the early twentieth century. No less than 5 million pages are available online. But the departmental archives are also exhibitions, study days and numerous discovery appointments. The guided tour will allow you to penetrate this mysterious window by accessing those parts that are usually inaccessible to the public, such as conservation stores and the catering laboratory where you will deliver their secrets. Access to the consultation spaces is free. Two reading rooms are available to the public. You can ensure the availability of the documents you wish to consult before you move by email. These archives are managed by the Departmental Council of Loire-Atlantique.
