THE MACHINE GALLERY
Galerie des Machines, where the Great Elephant was born, the real mascot of Nantes
The fruit of the unbridled imagination of Mr. Delarozière and Mr. Orefice, inspired by the worlds of Leonardo da Vinci and Jules Verne, the Galerie des Machines is above all the laboratory of the company La Machine, where the Great Elephant was born, today a real mascot of Nantes, who sleeps at night under the naves and during the day wanders on the quays, barking and spraying the onlookers, but also the Carrousel of the Marine Worlds where you can dive for a ride to the abyss. Overlooked by a heron with an 8-meter wingspan, the Galerie des Machines workshop takes you into the world of the future Heron Tree, a project that is still going strong and will welcome 450 people on its 22 branches in the Misery quarry. Beyond the 1/5th scale model of the Heron Tree, you will discover the giant hummingbird of the future mechanical aviary, the sky louse, the giant ant, the mechanical spider, or the one that will make the hearts of young and old capsize, also a future inhabitant of the tree: the sloth. After the swarm of butterflies that thrilled us in 2022, 2023 will be a time of renewal! Another way to see the quays of the Loire between the naves.
Les explications sont accessibles également aux enfants.
Par ailleurs, le cadre extérieur est vraiment agréable, et la progression du projet de l'arbre aux hérons permet de renouveler la visite.
