CHANTENAY DOCKS HISTORIC SITE
A 10,000 m² historic site in the lower Chantenay area, retracing the history of this neighborhood on the move.
It is a new breath of fresh air that has taken place and reinvented the historic site located in the lower Chantenay region. On the banks of the Loire, the Docks of Chantenay remain the witness of the history of this moving district. People come here with family or friends to stroll along the impetuous Loire. And on the 10,000 m2 site, one (re) visits the Esclain shipyard installed on the site in 1996, recalling the imprint of the Dubigeon shipyards. We stop for a drink in the very beautiful artisanal microbrewery Little Atlantique Brewery which offers superb views of the Loire. We take the second line of Navibus to reach the grey crane of the Banana Shed on the island of Nantes. Or you can opt for a 1.5-hour river trip around the Ile de Nantes to rediscover the city in a different way aboard the Passe-Partout. This site also plays an economic and creative role: several companies (Atelier Blam, MB production, Picktogram, Avignon-Clouet...) and a collective of about ten associations and structures linked to culture and creation (Association Bloc13) actively participate in the dynamics of the site. On Fridays in the late afternoon, shopping is done at the creators' market (books, decoration, jewellery, bags...). Les Docks is a whole district that is renewing itself by promoting the industrial, historical, cultural and natural heritage of the Cité des Ducs!
