The Musée d'Art de Nantes welcomes all forms of creation, from ancient art to contemporary art and photography.
Located in the heart of the city, between the cathedral and the Jardin des Plantes, the Musée d'arts de Nantes is a major landmark in the French museum landscape. One of the few French museums to have enriched its collections with works by living artists since it was founded in 1801, the museum's extensive collection is housed in the sumptuous spaces of the 19th-century Palais and the recently enlarged Contemporary Cube. Thanks to this ongoing curiosity about the art of its time, the collection offers a broad panorama of creation, from ancient art to contemporary art, via the 19th century and modern art. Over 900 paintings, sculptures, photographs, videos and installations are on display. Take a look at Ingres, Courbet, La Tour, Monet, Kandinsky, Delaunay, Kapoor or Soulages! Last but not least, there's a bookshop-boutique and the Café du Musée run by chef Eric Guérin: a bistronomic address for lunch, coffee or a snack in this prestigious setting.

Closed January 1, May 1, November 1 and December 25. Open Friday to Monday and Wednesday, 11am to 7pm; Thursday, 11am to 9pm. Free admission for children under 18. Adults: €9 (reduced €4). Animation-workshop: €6. Children welcome. Guided tours. Restaurant. Gift store. Animations.
