Metamorphosed! This is the first qualifier that will come to mind if you pass in front of La Belle Equipe. Closed at the end of September 2016, this mythical restaurant on the banks of the Erdre reopened its doors in October 2017 after a good makeover. La Belle Equipe is now a two-storey building with a huge bar to welcome you and different atmospheres. On the ground floor, the Eiffel verandah to fully enjoy the unique view of the river. Upstairs, the atmosphere is more hushed. We like the two Art Deco spirit rooms with fireplace, huge chandelier and water tapestry. Finally, the small lounge will be perfect for those who are looking for some privacy. About the slate, we liked the crushed sardines and fresh goat cheese, Jerusalem artichoke salad in vinaigrette and sea lettuce, the sautéed chicken hunter and baked shot potatoes, mushroom & tarragon sauce and finally the Nantes cake and seasonal fruit stew. However, we cannot recommend you too much to test the proposals made à la carte: butternut cream with a chestnut and grilled tuberous chervil condiment, squash and haddock seeds, scallops in carpaccio, extra virgin olive oil and pressed lime, clementine jelly and sesame seeds in wasabi, grilled lamb saddle, risetti with bear's garlic and brown lamb juice with thyme, dried or soft boiled tomatoes , clams, linguine and dashi cream with cuttlefish ink and of course the essential burgers. For the nostalgic, concerts, exhibitions, poker evenings and sports broadcasts are still on the agenda in this brand new place which has preserved a friendly and family atmosphere... An address as beautiful as it is good.
