Soup bar on the Île aux Machines for a world tour of flavours
Change of course for Olivier Gelbart, who opened his soup bar on Île aux Machines in January 2021. This travel and cooking enthusiast would almost invite us to take a trip around the world of flavours in 80 soups, such is the variety! With the soup of the day, each day offers a new destination: for example, go to Japan on Monday with nabe curry, Tuesday in Italy with winter minestrone, Wednesday in Lapland with lohikeitto, Thursday in Korea with kimchi-jigae, Friday in Thailand with thom kha gai. And then the must-sees on the menu take us to India with the deliciously spicy Mulligatawny, to Central Asia with the creamy Persian yoghurt, to Peru with the divine Cusquéna, without forgetting the famous Japanese chicken ramen. A real whirlwind for the taste buds! Sensitive to quality, Olivier works with mostly organic products. And out of respect for the environment, the containers are made of cardboard and the cutlery is made of wood. This concerns the take-away sale, because on the spot you will be able to enjoy the pretty crockery of Sandrine Gibet, the Nantes ceramist from Un Air de céramique! We are delighted to be able to nourish our body, heart and mind in this way because we love soups!
