DISQUE PLANETE SCULPTURE
A park featuring real metal sculptures created from recycled metals by an artist and scrap metal sculptor.
Murat Gecimli, an artist and scrap metal sculptor, is an extraordinary find. Of Turkish origin and father of 4, this itinerant restaurateur has a double life! All his spare time is devoted to his passion: creating real metal sculptures, the fruit of his imagination. His creations can be admired at the Disque Planète park in Mauves-sur-Loire, on the road to Paris. This fascinating artist recovers and recycles metals and scrap metal of all kinds (car disks, gas cylinders, engine chains, etc.). Each metal sculpture is a veritable work of art! Since 1988, he has been welding, creating and imagining characters inspired by the real world (Napoleon), novels, philosophy and history (Don Quixote). He also creates numerous metal animals (mammoths, horses, lions). Incredible mythical creatures such as Pegasus and dinosaurs. Recently opened, this open-air "museum" is just fabulous. Many thanks to our patrons Georges Malgogne and Thérèse Lemaître for helping to bring this unusual and poetic place to life. A must-see.
