A street known as Rue Basse, home to the Maison de l'Ange, once the residence of Victor Hugo's mother.
It was also called rue Basse. Between the door of the same name and the covered market are half-timbered, corbelled houses on a stone base, such as the Maison de l'Ange, built in the 15th century, which bears a schist medallion in memory of Sophie Trébuchet, Victor Hugo's mother, who lived in a neighbouring house. The door protected by Saint John has only kept, since 1824, its left part.
