The only one of its kind in France, the Sabournac hunt is organized along the lines of a large English-style hunt, with the difference that it's not pheasants or partridges but high-flying mallards. This hunt appeals to hunters looking for difficult shots. Positioned on a hillside or on the edge of a pond, the mallards arrive at surprising speed. A typical day is as follows: 9 a.m. rendezvous, draw for post numbers, stalking, snack, stalking, tableau and late lunch.
